Description:
The Kemmerling Park and Pool project consists of two phases: the first focuses on park improvements, while the second addresses enhancements to the aquatic facility. Phase one includes replacing the existing playground, upgrading the tennis and pickleball courts, and adding new features such as family game areas, naturalized spaces with nature seating, and outdoor fitness equipment. Other upgrades include ballfield enhancements, additional shade structures, and replacing the park’s pathways. Phase two focuses on the aquatic facility, introducing a splash pad at Kemmerling Pool, dive well improvements (such as a climbing wall), new seating and shade options, and infrastructure upgrades, including the installation of a new pool heater.

Frequently Asked Questions
For this particular project, it was also essential that Phase 1, the park-side improvements, be completed before the pool closes for the season. This timing allows Phase 2, focused on the aquatic facility, to begin immediately afterward. Coordinating the project in this way ensures that all site work is completed in time for the following pool season.
Both phases of this work are highly dependent on weather conditions and contractor availability.
Currently, the District anticipates reopening the courts between mid-August and early September. In the interim there are also tennis & pickleball courts located at Marion Park, and pickleball courts at Clauss Park.
